Privacy Policy
What StarterBench records when you visit, what it doesn't, and who else is involved.
Updated
StarterBench is a content site. We don't run user accounts, we don't sell anything directly, and you never have to give us personal information to read our guides. Here's exactly what happens when you visit.
Page views
We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics. It sets no cookies and reports only totals: which pages were viewed, the referring site, and the visitor's country, device type, browser and operating system.
Affiliate link clicks
Outbound product links go through our redirect at /go/… so we can count clicks and keep links working if a destination changes. Each click records which link was clicked, the time, the page you clicked it from, and the country your request came from. We do not store your IP address or browser details, and the log can't identify you personally.
Hosting and infrastructure
The site is hosted on Vercel, and our database runs on Neon Postgres in the United States. Like virtually every site, our hosting providers process standard server logs, such as IP addresses and request times, to operate the service. We don't combine this with anything else and we don't share it with advertisers.
Our fonts are served from our own domain, so reading StarterBench makes no requests to Google Fonts.
Cookies
We don't set advertising or tracking cookies ourselves. If you click through to a retailer such as Amazon or a brand's store, that retailer's own cookie and privacy policies apply from that point on. For example, Amazon uses a cookie to credit a purchase to us, usually within 24 hours of your click.
Contact
If you email us, we keep your message only as long as needed to reply. For any privacy question: hello@starterbench.com.
