Affiliate Disclosure

How StarterBench makes money, and why it doesn't change what we recommend.

Updated

StarterBench is reader-supported. When you click a "Check price" button or a product link and then buy something, the retailer may pay us a commission. The price you pay is the same. This is how we fund the site, and it never affects which products we recommend or how we rank them.

Amazon Associates

StarterBench is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

Brand partner programs

We also take part in affiliate programs run directly by 3D printing brands and through affiliate networks such as Awin, ShareASale and Impact. When a brand's own store offers readers a better deal or a better buying experience, we may link there instead of Amazon.

Our editorial promise

  • Picks are earned. We recommend what we believe is genuinely right for beginners. No brand can pay for a placement, a ranking or a positive review, and a higher commission never moves a product up a list.
  • We say how we know. Every pick is labelled either "Tested on our bench" or "Research pick", so you can see which verdicts come from hands-on testing. See how we test.
  • Criticism stays in. If a product has a problem, we say so, whoever sells it.
  • Free samples are disclosed. If a brand ever sends us a product for free, the review will say so.

Every "Check price" button and product link in our guides is an affiliate link, marked rel="sponsored". They go through a short redirect at starterbench.com/go/… before reaching the retailer.
